Nothing to do with quilting

Ok so this has bothered me since Saturday night
What the heck is going on with River Song? ok so you ladies may well have worked out I'm a Doctor Who fan :) I may possibly have a slight...ok huge crush on the current Doctor but it has taken 3 days of trying to work out what on Earth is going on and failing miserably so I thought I'd shout out here and see if you have any thoughts?

Did they, didn't they?
Does Amy ever get to see her daughter grow up?
Didn't River die in the "silence in the library" episode with the lovely David Tennant looking on.
What was with the eye patch at the end of Saturdays episode?

And I'm not even touching on how do they get around killing the Doctor for the 13 time!

I will be back soon with finished quilt pictures :)

Better late than never?

Hello out there to anyone still reading!
You have my apologies for the infrequency of my posts lately, between birthdays holidays and wisdom teeth September seems to have happened without me.

These blocks are for Rachel in the fabulous Sew Modern Quilt Bee

I've wanted to see this fabric line up close and personal for a while so I was really pleased to get to sew with them.

April from Sewn Together Bee is working on a bottled rainbow quilt which I'm sure will look great once its all together :)

Rather more blurry than I remember when I took it, wine + camera = bad pics!

These ones are for Beth and between customs on both ends stopping her fabric getting here on time and me being rubbish they are rather late getting back to her!

Finally a sneak peek at a soon to be finished quilt - It just needs binding!

On the sewing table this week are the above for binding, Oh yes I machine bind!
Jenna from Sewhappygeek blocks for september at Sew Bee It
and a new project of jelly roll joy :)

Hope you all have a fab week and get some time to sew up a storm!

Tuesday 13 September 2011

I went AWOL and loved it :)

So I've been away a while...a while longer than I thought if I'm honest and I'm only just now getting back into the swing of sewing and blogging, so while I sew up some bits to blog about I thought I'd share these picks!

So right before I buggered off to a beautiful Island for a week I ran my first (possibly last!) market stall

Some pretties you may recognise :)

And a surly coffee deprived cold person you don't!

Yes by this point in the morning I was pulling faces trying to hide from the August weather inside an insulated parker begging for coffee (Leggings were NOT a good idea!)

However things got better later in the week with this

Sun rise in Ibiza
We pottered around the coast line, sunbathed and drank way too much sangria (well it would've been rude not to really) We did bimble along to the Hippy market in Es Cana between sitting on our bums doing very little and I'm really pleased we did as the crafts on show were so much fun

These little dudes are key rings, a Captain Jack and a kitty were duly smuggled home :)

The leather working was another thing that stood out, so I thought I'd better get a pic of it!

And lastly a smattering of fairly funky pottery

The trip was an early birthday present as next monday I'm planning on turning 29 yet again (This will be the 3rd time) and it really was one of the best birthday gifts I've ever had :)

Lastly but by no means least is a rather large apology to anyone reading this and wondering "Well where are my Bee blocks!?!" I forgot to post them before I went! They are done and sitting looking at me, which I feel is even worse than not finishing them so again I am very sorry to my Bee peeps these little blocks will be winging across the ocean to you all at the weekend.

Have a great week everyone!
