Sunday Sewing #3

So this is more of a catch up post than I had planned, time seems to get away from me and before I know it it's been weeks since I last posted! Never mind though I'm here now :)

So over the last 2...maybe 3 weeks since I last posted I have managed to get this pillowcase finished

I love a good ditsy floral print!

and I'm really happy with the trim.

We have had some lovely walks in the park, bluebells have been everywhere.

I've also made a mess with a block called jazz hands from Material Obsession Two By Kathy Doughty & Sarah Fielke Had I realised it has a bejillion pieces to each block I may have given myself longer to sew it up.

As it is I've managed half a block, sometimes I am shamefully slow!

I've also been working on my Sew Sew Modern 5 package but I can't share any photos or I'll give the game away!

I hope your getting some sewing time in over the long weekend, right now I'm off to get this block finished :D

Hexagon quilt

A totally instigrammed photo of the Hexagon quilt.

You know some times you make a quilt and you like it once its finished, then other times you make a quilt and really really like it once it's finished? Yeah this is one of *those* quilts :)

I started with a fabric pull of dirty navy and pumpkin then built it up from there adding black essex linen and the final boarder.

As promised I backed a quilt in something other than ikea cotton!
I adore this print from Pat Bravo, it's a ditsy floral with super strong colours and I knew pretty much straight away it was going on the back of these hexagons!

I can honestly say machine piecing those 6 sided beggars is the way to go!

I have to share the "Out Take" photos from our trip to the beach, someone fancied learning to fly.

and the other someone needed lessons in sitting on a bench!

The quilt is now in my shop ready to go to it's new home
